Another Week in Review...

I just realized that I've only been posting once a week. I promise I'll try to do better!! Friday night was my mom's last night here. We went to Mi Cocina for dinner and then my mom and I went to get pedicures. Don't they look so excited to be going out for dinner? ha!
On Saturday night, the Cox's had us over for dinner. Mackey needs to move in with me! She was such a big help. She wanted to hold and even feed Nixon!

On Monday, we took on the zoo! We went with Shay, Whitney, and Sarah...along with a combined total of 8 of our young friends! This is Molly and Ebby Lee at the beginning of the day...not too sure what to think?

Mackey, Whitney, Kensington, and Shay checking out some animal.

At lunch time, the best picture I could get of these girls. They are two weeks apart and both working on walking.

Group photo...Paxton (4), Mackey (3), Kirby (14 months), Ebby Lee (12 months), Nixon (2 weeks), Smith (14 weeks), Kensington (19 months), Molly (12 months)...whew! What a crew! I have to brag on them! They all did SO good! We had NO meltdowns...that's impressive!

Ebby Lee and the goat...it looks like she might take after her Mama. She's not too sure about that little guy.

Kensington and another goat...she was loving her goat. Do you see that big smile on her face?

She was so impressed with the ducks!

Nixon is 2 weeks old!

On Tuesday, we ventured out to the grocery store. This is Nixon after a big morning of grocery shopping!

Later that afternoon, we went out for a walk.

On Wednesday, both kiddos had doctor's appointments. Ebby Lee went for her 1 year check-up. She got three shots and a finger prick, but she did so good that we went to get some yogurt afterwards!

Nixon had his 2 week check-up. He got a little heel stick and fussed for about a second and then went back to sucking on his paci! He took it like a man!

Whew! What a Day!

On Wednesday, my mom and I decided to get out of the house and go to the mall. Not that big of a deal, right? Ha ha! We shopped for about an hour and then decided to go get some lunch. We were at the food court when it all went down hill! First, Ebby Lee was cranky because she didn't get a morning nap. She's not a great napper at all, but she prefers to take a small morning nap and a small afternoon nap. So...Ebby Lee's fussy and I think it's just because she's sleepy. No...my mom picked her up and was going to let her sit on her lap and when she did we discovered that Ebby Lee had a super accident all over her shorts! Did this new mom of two pack an extra pair of clothes?? NOPE! So, I hauled Ebby Lee into the bathroom and changed her diaper (might I add that she's fallen asleep so she slept through this entire process). She came out with a shirt and a diaper only. Then Nixon was hungry so we were dealing with that. Ebby Lee decided she wasn't tired anymore and ready to eat. She spilled all kinds of food on my mom and her white pants. As Shay pointed out, what was my mom doing wearing white pants with two kids?? So, we were a mess!! We survived and are living to tell about it! But...it was definitely an adventure! Nixon being such a sweet boy in his car seat.

Ebby Lee enjoying her lunch...notice no shorts!

We made such a mess that we actually cleaned up the floor!! Ugh! What a day!

Our Week in Review...

Ebby Lee received a SEMO Redhawks cheerleading outfit for her birthday from Aunt Sandi and Uncle Kelly. She had to try it on and model.

We went to the doctor for Nixon's check-up.

Nixon posed for the camera....handsome boy!

Nixon did some swingin'.

Ebby Lee got to hold her little brother.

She's so proud of herself, but check out his face!

Nixon did lots of nappin'...thank you, Nixon!!

Kirby came to visit and thought, "Ooh, boy cooties!"..ha!

Ebby Lee's been catching up on her reading. This girl LOVES her some books!

Nixon turned 1 week old!

Don't look at me...ha! But...after dinner, a family walk, and baths Ebby Lee, Nixon, and Mama had some cuddle time!! (Yes, Ebby Lee is wearing gingerbread pj's...they still fit really well!)

We've had a great first week at home. Nixon is doing great. He's eating and sleeping really well at night. Big sister, Ebby Lee, is adjusting well too. We're thankful that T-Nonna's been here to take a feeding at night, so Tab and I are getting lots more sleep than with Ebby Lee!

Coming Home...

All dressed up in his clothes and ready to go home...he had matching pants but they were too little! He's a big boy!
In his car seat and ready to go!

Daddy, Mama, and Nixon

First time in his house...he looks impressed, right?

Ebby Lee and Nixon
We arrived home to a house with newly cleaned carpets! Boo and T-Nonna worked hard while we were in the hospital! They cleaned ALL of our carpets. It was so nice to come home to a super clean house.

Hospital Day 2...

Please excuse my face, but I wanted you to see the progress we made during the day. Ebby Lee still struggling with the fact that she can't hold the baby by herself.

After an hour at the park with Daddy and a sucker...what a mess!!

By the end of the day...holding and kissing Nixon. What progress!

The Roans with Mr. Nixon...I'm so sorry I forgot to take pictures of Rachel/Jaxson and Andrea. We had lots of more friends and family who came to see and love on Nixon. Thank you!!!

Daddy thought the pink/blue hat was a little too girly so he found one he liked much better.
*The first four pictures are extremely out of order. Pretend they're at the bottom of the post, if you can.
Nixon, Sarah, Molly, and Dicky...The Smiths came to visit and bring us drinks! Thank you!!

Our fabulous neighbors and great friends...the McCollums. Amber waited it out in the waiting room earlier in the day, but she brought Justin back that night. We encourage them almost everyday to have a baby...so hopefully Mr. Nixon will help a little with persuading them.

Mamas and their boys! The Shulls came by to visit. Shay and Smith posing with me & Nixon.

Tab and I checking in at the hospital at 7:30 in the morning...almost one year after checking in with Ebby Lee (I know a lot of my friends are thinking it...so I just threw it out there...ha!).

Everything seemed to go much faster this time. By the time we got to our room and got settled in it was about 8:00. They checked me and I was a 4-5. They started my induction medicine by 8:30. When Dr. Riegel got there around 9:15, he broke my water and I was getting my epidural about 30 minutes later. At 11:30, our room was full of family and friends. My nurse had them leave to check me and I was extremely ready! So, we started pushing a few minutes later and he was here at 12:10!

Our family of four

Tab, Nanny, and Nixon...3 generations

M and Nixon

G, Nixon, and Tab...3 generations

Me, Nixon, and T-Nonna...3 generations

Nanny and Ebby Lee
Ebby Lee was such a trooper. She hung out keeping everyone entertained. I think it was so weird to her that the baby was real!!

Erin and Nixon...Erin stopped by on her way home from running a half-marathon the day before. Way to go, Erin!

T-Nonna, Boo, and Nixon

We are so blessed with great family and great friends. Thanks to all who were thinking about us and praying for us. Nixon's arrival went so smoothly. We're so excited to have him here!
