Favorite Things-Nail Polish

WAHOO!!!  Andrea and I are having a Favorite Things Party and we're talking about one of my very favorite things...NAIL POLISH!  I can walk into Ulta or Sephora and instantly spend way too much money on nail polish alone!  I like to buy lots of colors but I tend to always go back to my tried and trues.

My very favorite nail polish look right now is a really light pink.  I've had Essie's Ballet Slippers for a while and have always been a fan.  This will sound crazy, but I always think a light pink makes it appear as though I have a bit of a tan (even when I don't).  And...I'm REALLY bad about taking my polish off.  I let it stay a day or two after it starts chipping and with a light pink it doesn't look nearly as bad.  :)

Or if OPI's your jam...

I love a nail polish collection.  Yes, I said I "love" it and I'm not even exaggerating. It's the perfect way to sample lots of colors.  Usually in a pack, Ebby Lee has a favorite and I have a different fave...so it's a win-win for us both.

In case you weren't convinced that a soft pink was a fabulous look. :)

A few of my other faves...

Apparently I like bright pinks/corals in summer and dark/sparkly in fall and winter. :)

What is your favorite nail polish color?  If you have a blog, please join our link up!!  If you don't, please comment and share your favorite!  I'd love any excuse to make a trip to Ulta.  ;)

I'm with you Erika! I always say the lighter the polish, the tanner I look :) Yay for summer sandals being just around the corner for this Indiana girl!

I have a nice collection of Essie colors, just depends on my mood and season. The light colors are great on hands and bright on toes. My new favorite polish is the Jamberry Laquers. They too dry quickly, but I think they last longer without chipping. 😄

YES- Vinylux cake pop is an incredible color!!! It is so exactly the color of the Starbucks pink cake pop coating!! Is that why they named it that?!
Peyton- or anyone who has tried Vinylux?! How long does yours last? Mine only gets 3 days looking pretty good. SO disappointed- not 7 like they advertise!! Does anyone use/not use a base coat w Vinylux?!

Aaaaahhhh! No joke, I was at target yesterday and was choosing between ballet slippers, Fiji and mademoiselle..... Picked ballet slippers and came home ecstatic...... Then I saw this first up on your post!!! Yea!!! :))))
I just picked up OPI "mod about you" for my toes- per shay's rev commendation- and completely love that color!
Also, I've heard the BEST color to wear on your toes when you are tan is Essie's "splash of grenadine"- anyone have feedback on this one?!!!

If anyone really likes to hear about descriptions of OPI and Essie colors, veronikasblushing did a video somewhere about her nail bag- it was like 10 min of awesome if you love nail polish!!!!

I love Essie polish! But lately, I've fallen in love with the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. Dries so fast & easy to apply (no heat lamp required!) I do a lot of typing and it seems to not chip as bad :) Love the light pinks for spring!

My favorite colors are Essie Watermelon, OPI Dutch Tulips and OPI California Raspberry. I keep saying I'm going to break away from the bright pinks, but I never do. :)

Love Ballet Slippers! My most recent favorite is Essie's Worth the Wait - very similar to Ballet Slippers, just a little more neutral than pink I think?

Eek! I love a good nail polish post! I'm always wondering what other colors people love. Those Ulta coupons are a life saver when it comes to buying Essie and OPI ;)

Have you ever tried zoya nail polish?? My salon only uses that now and phased out the OPI. It's the best! Stays on much better than Essie or OPI!!!

FYI, "Mod About You" by OPI is the very best light pink color ever!!! I love "Ballet Slippers" too but I have to say, "Mod about You" takes the cake. It's still a very pale pink but is also very eye catching. It's the best!

Love your light pink and bright pink recommendations! I'm currently loving OPI's Lucky, Lucky Lavender. I also always love OPI's Koala berry

I'm so glad to see Essie's Meet Me At the Altar on your list! It is my FAVORITE!!!! I always go back to it. I love a hint of lavender in my pale pinks (cool-toned) and it is just perfect. I almost never take it off my toes, and love it on my hands. So flattering. It looks really lavender in the pic, but in person it's actually a beautiful cool-toned pale pink. It even has a shimmer that is not visible when on, but it adds a lushness that is hard to describe. It's just clean and pretty. I always take it to pedicures and they laugh at me, but there is just no other color that compares.
Pardon my gushing-I'm just glad to see someone likes it too.:)

I forgot to say-I was a "mod about you" devotee for a few years until I discovered Essie's "meet me at the altar." If you like "Mod" give "Meet" a try. Ha! :) You'll likely switch.

I adore Lincoln Park after Dark and my mom wore I'm not Really a waitress for YEARS when I was growing up, another good color. I've tried pale pink so many times, but darker colors seem to look better with my skin tone. Thanks for sharing :)
