Friday Favorites

We're all on a sugar high at the Slaughter house!  Someone bring us a green vegetable.  STAT!  We partied hard last night for Ebby Lee's big day.  I'll post more of the fun next week.  But first I must thank you for all the sweet words and birthday wishes!!!  They meant so much to me. :)  THANK YOU!!

Today I'm joining forces with my girls, Andrea and Narci, for our Friday Favorites!

This weekend Nixon brought home the class "pet" to take him on a little adventure.  It was Easter weekend, so we had a great weekend.  However, we couldn't remember to take that bear ANYWHERE!!! So, on Monday we needed a couple things for his baseball game this week and we finally remembered to take "Rudy" to the store with us.

The big adventure we took him on was the escalator.  :)  hahahaha!  #wetried  Nixon's FAVORITE moment was sharing this little adventure with his class on Tuesday.

Yesterday with family in tow I did a little swimsuit shopping.  I blogged about some of my FAVORITE suits online on Wednesday.  I tried on a TON of suits and this was my top pick!  Hands down.  My mom and grandma 100% agreed.  The sizes are crazy limited, but I should tell you that I've been disappointed in Jessica Simpson since her and Nick split.  I was BIG fan of the show, Newlyweds.  :)  Anyone else?  I must tell you with this suit she is back in my good graces!!!  I'll be checking out her swimwear line every year now!!

My family came to town this weekend for the big kiddos' birthdays and brought these cookies.  My cousin, Whitney, makes the cutest and most delicious cookies ever!!  Seriously!  They're our FAVORITE!  If you're in Southeast Missouri, you NEED her to make cookies for your next event.  Even if it's just for your post-dinner dessert.  :)  Ebby Lee's party was a "Fancy Nancy" theme and Whitney hooked us up!

A little birthday party tease :)  I'll share the rest from the party next week, but don't these girlies look so FANCY??  Ebby Lee had a BLAST!!  It was definitely a FAVORITE moment from the week!

I need your help!!!
I was letting my hair grow to achieve the look above and below, but it's just not happening.  I've hit a brick wall and I need it cut ASAP!  Do you guys know what I'm talking about??  When you think, you need it cut within the next 48 hours?  haha!  I'm to that point!

So...what are your thoughts on these....

Option #1

Option #2-This one is adorable, but makes me nervous because the subject says, "For Thin Hair".  My hair is the farthest from thin....so this probably isn't the option for me.  But thin hair girls....don't you love this?

Option #3

Things to remember...my face is round and my hair is thick!  Which is your FAVORITE?

Thanks for any help or recommendations you give me!  Have a GREAT weekend, ladies!!  XOXO

#3 is the exact picture my hairstylist and I use when I get haircuts and I always get compliments. Go for it!

I love option #2! I love short hair! I am at the stage of growing mine out and when I get bored with it I cut it super short and then grow it back out again! Short hair is so much easier!! I like option #1 also because you could still put it up into a pony tail. Good luck!

LOVE option #1 for your hair! I just hit that point yesterday and sent my hairdresser an emergency "CAN YOU HELP ME, I AM GOING CRAZY" text! I am now a little shorter, and a little blonder. Number 1 is perfect!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE option #1!!!! :)

I just had mind cut like option 1. I have super think hair and love it!

That swimsuit is so cute! I'm a hairstylist and I think Option #2 is soooo pretty and you can pull it off! Just ask for more/shorter layers. Good luck!

You'll look adorable in any of the above cuts - but I love #1... I've taken that one to my own hair dresser! Love a long bob! Good luck!

I laughed and laughed about the fact that Jessica is now back in your good graces!!! I'm with you. I was totally Team Nick. But that swimsuit top did her right, and I'm with you, she's creeping back in. :)

I totally feel you on the hair....I'm totally in the same spot right now! I love the long bob

I am short and sassy when it comes to hair. Personally, when I see your pictures, I think your hair looks great the way you where it now. Bathing suit pick - GREAT!

Love option 2

Andrea said...

My hair was long like yours and I recently cut it into a shoulder length bob and I LOVE IT! I love hair with a great pony tail potential.. Plus i love all the extra volume I get it! You should take the dive!

Kathy Olson said...

You would look good in any of those styles, especially the longer hair. But I like #1, too:)

Stephanie said...

I think #1 is my top choice, but like others have said, I think you could rock any of them. Is your cousin near Jackson, MO at all? If so, I’d be interested in getting her contact info!

melissabunny100 said...

Don't cut your hair....you will just be another mom then...you are a hot mom now....don't change it...I loved Nick and Jess.....you don't see her with short hair do you?

Katie Neff said...

Look at "textured bob" on Pinterest. You could pull it off and it would be great for summer!

Katy Worthen said...

Option #2 is my favorite, its what i use for my hair stylist. My hair is thick so it works!! I am actually trying to grow my hair out as well and I'm getting annoyed with it but I'm sticking to growing it out. Haha

Love, love, love that suit! I am heading online to Nordstrom now :)
What a cute party for Ebby Lee! Can't wait to hear all the details!
I like all those looks you picked for you hair. I like #3 for something different, or #1 to stay closer to your comfort zone. Good luck!

I'm a fan of option 1, but you are so cute you would look good in any of them :)

I loved Newlyweds! It made me so happy, and that is when I started wearing ponchos! Thank you Jessica! ;) I would love to have contact info for cookies! We are in Southeast Missouri! Happy Friday!

I like option #1

Option #1
I totally loved Jessica & Nick and loved watching Newlyweds....I was so sad when they divorced!

Jennifer said...

I vote for Option #1. I actually pinned the same picture for myself a few weeks ago when I got my hair chopped off

Leiah said...

I think you should go for a cute long bob like option #2! I've seen girls with a little bit thicker hair nail it and I think you'd look super cute!

Candice Ibarra said...

Newlyweds was my favorite show!! Sometimes I'll watch an episode or two on YouTube! Ha! they were so cute together!

I'm a fellow thick blonde hair girl so Ive had your issue :) my hair wasn't growing because of flat ironing/blow drying then i decided to get the keratin treatment and my hair is so much healthier and grows sooo fast! I have so many of those pictures you posted pinned on my "hair" board on Pinterest too haha! If you're going to cut it I love Reese witherspoons cut!

ANYTHING would look good on you! But the last pic was super cute

Kelsey Mann Peacock said...

Love that bathing suit! Oh and the long bob would be super cute, I vote for option #1 or #2. Isn't it so frustrating trying to grow your hair out?! I always get frustrated and just chop mine off too!

Julie Magdic said...

I love option #1. I have pinned that exact picture of carrie underwood multiple times to tell my hairdresser. Julianne Hough also has some great hairstyles that I've loved :)

Lauren Truman said...

I'm often hesitant to admit this, but I own all the Newlyweds DVDs!! I felt like a piece of me was getting divorced with them... So hard!!! And I get that attached to the Bachelor/Bachelorette couples as well.. Glad I'm not alone (at least for the Newlyweds!!) Option 1 would be adorable!!!! I love cutting my hair like option 2, but I have thin hair... You could always try it, though!! Ebby Lee is the most precious SIX year old ever!!!

Emily Hull said...

Option #1 is what I just used to get my haircut and I love it!

Katie said...

I have a round face & thick hair, too, and I cut my hair into option #2 about 4 years ago & haven't looked back since. It is literally the first haircut in my life that I have loved, and not immediately thought, "if only this were different..." I can't wait to see what you choose!

Kristina Ballasiotes said...

I'm a BIG fan of the hair styles that are going on right now. I think the Carrie look is cute but safe. The last look I think would be a cute, bold, edgy change for summer. Can't wait to hear all about Ebby Lee's party. Happy belated Birthday sweet girl!

Grace said...

I have always wanted a lob (long bob) and I think it would look SO cute on you!!

Elaine Welte said...

Option 1- hands down! The other ones are shorter! Glad Ebby Lee had a great party!!! And I LOVE that swimsuit! I'll have to see if it comes in other colors, although black is slimming ;)

LHWinstead said...

Linking up with you for the first time today!! I absolutely love the suit. I just chopped my hair similar to option 1 & I am lovinggg it, go for it!!

"I should tell you that I've been disappointed in Jessica Simpson since her and Nick split." This made me laugh out loud! I totally agree, I was so sad when they broke up!

I vote for style #3 but they're all cute!

ps, i'm still laughing about your disappointment in Jessica Simpson...

Tanya said...

Any of the 3 hairstyles would look great for you! I just got my hair cut after growing it out for awhile. When I was putting it in a ponytail every single day, I knew it was time for a change. It feels so much healthier now!

Angela said...

What part of SE Missouri is your cousin from? I live in Sikeston and I'm always looking for ideas for people to make cookies for birthdays and other events!

Katy said...

Love all of this!!! I'm ordering cookies:)))) I'm loving option #1. Since my hair is thin and does not grow I always stick with option #2 only dreaming of long hair (like Reese;). And I loved Newlyweds too. I'm still not over the break up. ;)

Leigh said...

Oh I love all the hair options but 1 is my fav. I've asked for that cut before. I have a round face but my hair is very fine so it appears thinner than it is. I'm getting my hair done next week and I may try option 2 for myself!

Sandra Litcher said...

I was a huge Newlyweds fan and was super disappointed when they broke up, but I agree that suit is awesome and so a reason to love her again! I love the Fancy Nancy theme, I wish I had thought of it when my daughter was younger! My vote is number 1!

Katie Paladino said...

Oh my word I loved newlyweds as well! Have all the seasons on DVD and still bust them on on occasion;) I think all the styles are great but maybe 1 to start! I always want short but then regret it!! I think 1 is a good compromise!

Kathleen said...

I loved loved loved newlyweds!!!!!! I was so mad when her and nick split but she does seem very happy now! ;)

Erika Slaughter said...

She's in Jackson!!! Can you give me your email and I'll send you her info?

Ok, I lovvvve the suit. Looking it up in a minute. Love the hair options- I cut a ton of my hair off in the fall to the length of #2 and still love it. It looks great wavy, straight, etc. The Jessica Simpson thing is SPOT ON! My husband and I actually used to watch Newlyweds together! "I Do....Cherish YOu..."...now I've got the song stuck in my head!!! :)
