Friday Favorites

Holla!!  Friday, it's good to see you!  My kiddos are out of school today so we're enjoying the day as a family.  I'm teaming up with my girls, Andrea and Narci, to bring you some Favorites, of course.  :)

I have a whole lot of random for you today, friends.

Have you guys seen these??  They're a new shoe being released by Nike that TIES ITSELF!  Hello, Marty McFly shoes!  As a teacher, I would have paid good money for every kid to have a pair of these so I never had to tie shoelaces...especially the ones that were wet!  EEK!  Teachers, you know what I'm talking about, right?

I'm over at The Blended Blog as their Feature Friday.  Go check us out here!

Every once in a while the stars align and I capture a sweet little brother moment.

I need your help!!  Where's your FAVORITE place to shop for rugs?  We're working on completing our front room (with the new fireplace) and I ordered a couple rugs.  One is growing on me, but I'm not sure yet if it's "the one". I'm giving it a few days.  Where is your go-to rug store??

Do you guys remember this trip?  You know the one where my group decided to wrap me like a mummy and then hold me up with a piece of rope?  That one!  hahaha!  I kid.  Kind of.  :)  My hubby earned us another getaway to Deer Valley!!  This year I'm putting my big girl pants on and giving that whole skiing thing my best shot.  I've never skied a day in my life, so I'm hoping for the best!  haha!  I'm sure I'll be rolling down the mountain, but it'll be fun right?  I can't WAIT to share how it goes!  Make sure you're following along via Instagram where I'll try my best to share some updates.  I'm "slaughteren" on IG.

I had dinner last week with some of my favorite ladies.  I getting together and catching up with these girls, especially if there are deviled eggs involved.  :)

Monday is another Let's Talk link-up all about moms.  You can share all about your mom, your mother-in-law, your grandmother, or some funny mom moments you've experienced yourself.  We can't wait to read!

Nobody was pinching us last week!!  #allthegreen

I think I linked to this blog post last year, but a couple years ago Shay did a fabulous blog post about her faith.  I loved it!  It answered all kinds of questions for any one who might want to learn more about how to have a relationship with Christ.  In honor of Easter this Sunday, here's my friendly reminder-this weekend is all about the Lamb, not the bunny.  Fabulous quote!

Hope you have a great weekend celebrating our Risen Savior!  Happy Easter, Friends!  XOXO

Definitely take a little lesson before hitting the slopes! I was so glad I did. You will have a blast and I'm sure you will do great. I suck at picking rugs...I bought 2 I love finally this year from West Elm but I seriously just can't "see" things until they are here and installed. Have a super weekend!

Overstock.com is where I buy my rugs. They hold up for years and years and aren't so crazy expensive as some. We have also had to return one without any hassle.

Ok those shoes that tie themselves...wish those were invented years ago...all my kids would have had those! And yay for trying out skiing. I only ever went once in my life, I fell a ton but it was fun! Can't wait to hear all about it! Have a wonderful weekend and a happy Easter

Our dining room rug is from LuLu and Georgia, but it was very scary to buy a rug online! Our den rug is from Weir's and it was so easy. You should check HomeGoods too!

Have you looked at RugsUSA.com for a rug? They have a huge selection and almost always are having a great sale. I found a runner I wanted from Pottery Barn but it was over $600--not something I wanted to pay for just a runner! I found one very similar to it on Rugs USA and paid under $100!! Have a great weekend!

I'm always a sucker for Pottery Barn rugs but try to keep an eye out for the sales. World Market is also good - and Ballard Designs as well! Are you close to Weir's up in Plano? I LOVE that place. Happy Easter, chick! {<--- see what I did there? ;) }

You cannot beat the deals for rugs at RugsUSA - however, you have to KNOW that its the rug and size you want...I got one for a steal a year or two ago and we realized we needed a bigger size when we rolled it out. It cost more to send it back then I paid for it, so its still sitting in a corner waiting for another room someday. Also, my hubs got a STEAL on a 9x12 rug at Home Depot that we ended up with - make sure to run through Home Depot and Lowe's, especially to the places they have them laid on top of one another and you might find one you love!

Try Overstock.com. I just got a new rug for my office there. Pretty reasonably priced too. Text me if you want a pic of it in the office.

I recently got a rug from Weir's (the Plano location) and I love it! For a large rug, I really wanted to see it in person. It was reasonably priced and delivered.

When we were looking for a rug, I would check out TJ Maxx/Home Goods about once a week to see what new rugs they got in. I've also heard really good things about rugsusa.com! Can't wait to see which one you end up getting! :)
