A Little Party

After school on Monday, Ebby Lee invited a few friends over to have a little valentine party.  She had asked me (so nicely, I should add) if we could get flowers for the table and balloons.  While she was at school on Monday, Bowen and I made that happen.  I ordered a couple things...table cloth, party favors, and plates/napkins off Amazon Prime.  Goodness, how I love Amazon Prime!  We whipped this little party up with only a trip to the grocery store.

I grabbed some conversation hearts and found some candy in the pantry to put out for a little snack while they were painting.

Ebby Lee planned the menu...cookies, cupcakes, strawberries, popcorn, and Sprite.  What more could a seven-year-old want?

Shannon from Stand Up and Paint came to set up the art supplies.  We chose a cute little Easter/Valentine canvas for the girls to paint.

"Stand Up and Paint is a locally owned social painting and crafts studio that knows how to mix a touch of creativity with a whole lot of fun!  For each party, painting or project purchased, Stand Up and Paint will donate a minimum of 10% to a featured charity each month.  Our commitment to our community is a priority to us and that is why we are considered "Parties with a Purpose".  In addition to painting classes and parties, Shannon and her team also host "Pin-It Parties".  Pin-It Parties are designed to give guests the option to create DIY craft items such as beautiful wreaths, amazing painted glass, or any other awesome idea that inspires you.  Whether you are an individual wanting to tap into your artistic side or a group looking to socialize and have a good time-we've got something for everyone!  Stand Up and Paint will provide all supplies and instruction, just bring your favorite beverage, and snacks!"

The five second-graders arrived and were oh, so happy to get this party started!

We had the Sing soundtrack playing in the background.  They chatted all things second grade while painting their little hearts out.

This was the inspiration. :)

Shannon was so sweet with the girls.  She left while they were upstairs playing and one girl said, "Oh, I wanted to tell her bye".  That's how sweet she was.  :)

The canvases turned out SO CUTE!!

We'd just sent them upstairs to play and then realized we wanted to grab a group picture.  Some of their faces are like...TAKE THE PICTURE!  hahaha!  They played for a bit while the canvases dried.

Then it was SNACK TIME!

We CHEERS'D to a great little afternoon!  And then their parents all came to pick up.

Ebby Lee had so much fun throwing this little party.  (And I did too.)  I should add this wasn't a sponsored post by any means, but Shannon really was so sweet.  I'd recommend this company for anyone in our area looking to host a painting party in your home or another location.

Happy Thursday!  XO

Now I want my almost 24 year old daughter to be young again so that I can throw a little party like this with her. Canvases are adorable! I wish we had something like Shannon's business in northern IN. What a perfect afternoon for the girls.

What a cute party. Love the paintings! And you deserve an award too. You let 5 little girls paint on top of cream carpet!!! I was hyper-ventilating for you. I wish I could have been that laid back when my girls were younger. I would have had carpet protectors underneath the table, saran wrapped everything I could and paint cloths down on the wood floor.

Hahaha!! Don't give me too much credit. I was secretly wishing for a paint spill so I could get a new rug. It didn't happen. ;)

I'm a teacher and tomorrow we are having an in-service day, for a team building activity we are doing "Painting with a Twist"- minus the wine :)

This is just precious! Your girl's smile makes it totally worth it. I always love doing little parties that are NOT just for a birthday. A friend of mine threw an amazing gingerbread house making party one year that was so fun.

That is SO fun! My son is an artist and would love to do something like this- only problem is that most of his friends wouldn't! :) Thanks for sharing!

Adorable party! I considered throwing a similar one for my 5 yo. Love how you kept it fun and simple. Did you text the moms or send invitations weeks ago? Sometimes hard to pick the easiest way to avoid hurt feelings in the classroom

Erika Slaughter said...

I just group texted the moms! It was a last minute thing and I didn't want to hurt any feelings so I tried to keep it small and low key.
