Bringing Home Britt-Part 7

First up...these two pictures are out of order but I can't believe I missed them in their post.  These two girlies were at the same orphanage.  We traveled with the sweet family (I've mentioned a bit about the W family before.), we got our girls on the same day, and made some amazing memories with them.

Two dads and their girls.  :)
This right before we flew to Guanghzo.

**************************

You guys!!  This post captures our very last few days before flying back to Texas.

On Monday morning we had an early morning appointment at the U.S. Consolate to get all of Britt's paperwork finalized.  This is where we raised our hand and swore to love this girl forever.  Phones weren't allowed in so we took one quick picture before we walked inside.

We had so many families talk about The Garden hotel so we took a little tour afterwards (with the family we were traveling with).

These two had a little sister time. :)

Nixon insisted on a little brother time as well.

We grabbed some dinner at the Irish Pub (can't remember the name?) close to The Garden hotel before this happened...
Ebby Lee was feeling a little under the weather so she crawled into bed with Britt and they napped like champs.

I discovered this one has a strong mirror selfie game.  ;)

We hung out at the hotel, ate in the hotel restaurant, and called it an early night.

Tuesday morning our guide took us up via a gondola to the top of a mountain.

We got to the top and there was an insurance rally (I think) happening.

We took in all the views from the top.

Simply gorgeous and it felt like we were on the surface of the sun.  The humidity was out of control.

We snapped a picture, grabbed a popsicle, and were ready to go back down.

This girl had the best attitude the ENTIRE time we were gone.

Right beside the mountain/gondola area was a beautiful flower garden park.  But we were still trying to recoop from the humidity and temperatures. We all voted for the A/C and headed back to the van.  I grabbed a quick pictures to show you just how cute it was.

We found ourselves here again that afternoon.

Bowen wanted to do a little chilling on the sidelines with me.

After the swim, we got changed (kind of...I'm in a hat with messy hair) and went right back to 1920, the German restaurant.  This was our last night in Guangzho and we were celebrating!

Just me and the girls :)  I'm not sure you can tell but I'm giddy in this picture...just two nights until TEXAS!

Wednesday morning we said goodbye to our guide (totally missed a picture with her) and loaded up in our big van along with the W family to head to Hong Kong.  We had a one night stay there before we all flew out on Thursday.  The drive from Guanghzo to Hong Kong was about three hours.  When we crossed over to Hong Kong we had to split up into three different vans...only certain cars were authorized to drive in Hong Kong.  It was pouring down rain during the car switcharoo and we had to have passports for everyone in each van. Hard to describe but imagine all the chaos!  haha!

We finally arrived at the Hong Kong Marriott right outside the airport and did a lot of this...

I wish I could describe to you how excited we were to be just one night away from returning home.  I'd say overall the night in Hong Kong felt much more like America.  Everything was more similar...the accommodations, the food, the people, etc.

We spent the evening in the pool with the W family and then we all met up for one last dinner before parting ways.

This was our crew for the two and a half weeks.  Almost everyone we encountered thought we were the Duggars...nine kids between our two families.  haha!

This family will always have a little piece of our hearts.

Thursday morning, WE HEADED HOME!

We ate a big Italian lunch before boarding our fourteen hour flight.

On this flight we had all six seats across in the same row and thankfully, no one got sick.

Britt did great!

We were creative with our entertainment...this sleeping mask provided a good thirty minutes of entertainment along with the gum.

And fourteen hours later we ARRIVED in TEXAS to the best friends and family on the planet.

And a big HAPPY FOURTH of JULY to you guys!  Hope you celebrate big with your people!  From one proud American to you!  XO

What a great post! The bonds made with fellow travel families is amazing. The pic c in the China Hitel pool reminds of one of my favorites of Q and Shane in that exact same spot.
