Friday Favorites

 Happy Friday, Everyone!

Today is the day Narci, Andrea, and I team up to bring you our FAVORITES!  We invite you to join us. You can share {pretty much-ANYTHING} your favorites, add our graphic to your post, and then join the link-up!  Easy Easy!

I ordered this navy bell sleeve top and it arrived in the mail.  Don't pay attention to my clean laundry pile or that rolly thing in the background, but I like the shirt.  Just as a casual tee...the sleeves are fun, thin material, but it is short.  I paired it with a tank and liked the look.

Earlier this month, I shared some favorite Easter dresses picks.  If you have a graduation or wedding coming up, you might want to check out those options.

If you're looking for a yummy dinner recipe for this spring weather, I highly recommend these BBQ Pineapple Baked Chicken Tacos.  We had them this week and I had five fans at my house.

THANK YOU!!  On Tuesday, I asked for your vote for which wedding guest dress to wear to an upcoming wedding.  This dress above was the winner.  You can see the other final contenders in my post.

I've had several of you e-mail me or comment with must-dos while we're in New Orleans and I want to say a big THANK YOU!  Thank you for taking the time to send me some recommendations.  We have a pretty quick trip planned so I know we won't be able to get in all the dining.  I have no doubt we'll be eating GOOD while we're there thanks to you!

It's a little short and sweet today.

Hope you have a great weekend!  XO

Would You Rather

WHOA!!  That's a whole lotta Slaughter faces UP CLOSE!  This post today was inspired by those three little faces. :)

I'm not sure about silly games your family plays but in our family we like to play, WOULD YOU RATHER?!

If you've never heard of it, you give players two scenarios and then they have to choose the one they'd rather have happen.  All for some fun!

Let me tell you after deciding on this post idea, I realized there are a TON of websites out there with Would You Rather questions.  I have a Would You Rather app on my phone and when we're waiting for something while out running errands the kiddos and I often play.

Just yesterday, Ebby Lee asked me, "Mom, Would You Rather eat a live frog or have a frog eat you?".  No questions asked-I'd eat the frog.  :)

Again the game is all in good fun so of course-I'll never have to eat the frog and a frog won't be eating me, but sometimes I find myself afterwards still thinking about what I'd choose.

-When I was a teacher, we played ice breaker games at the start of almost every meeting.  These questions would be perfect.
-In your classroom, give your kiddos a quick brain break and ask some questions.
-Give your students a Would You Rather question as a story starter.
-Or be silly and ask your kiddos a bunch of Would You Rather questions...I promise you'll have a good time.  :)

Would You Rather:

*Would You Rather be locked in a room that is constantly dark for a week or locked in a room that is constantly bright for a week?

*Would You Rather live without the internet or without AC/heating?

*Would You Rather have hiccups for the rest of your life or always feel like you're about to sneeze but not be able to?

*Would You Rather eat everything you see or lick everything you see?

*Would You Rather always have to skip everywhere or always have to run everywhere?

Hands-down I'd choose...*the bright room because I'd be scared of the dark after just a few minutes.
*Goodbye social media.
*I'd rather feel like I was about to sneeze.  Hiccups make me angry.
*I guess I'd rather lick everything-I hate that feeling of being too full and you'd always feel like that.
*Run-I'd probably look silly but not as silly if I was skipping everywhere.

What about YOU?  What Would You Rather?

Thanks for stopping by today!  See you tomorrow!  XO

A Little Bit of Everything

I'm way behind on a real-life recap so today I'm sharing A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING...

This year Ebby Lee chose a girl's day with a friend instead of a big birthday party.  I picked her and Kensington up right after school, we headed straight to Sonic for a drink, then on to the nail salon.  We spent the rest of the evening at the mall doing a little shopping.  We ended with dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.

On the shopping adventure, they chose tiaras and instantly put them on.

Such a special evening celebrating this girl.  The waitress heard, "Abby Lee" and wrote that on the plate.  These two girls thought that was so funny.  :)

A week ago was Nixon's birthday AND the Living History Museum in second grade.  We had a seven-year-old AND Laura Ingalls Wilder to drop off for school.

The second graders all memorized a speech sharing a little bit about themselves from their historical figures point-of-view.

Nixon got some new Rangers' gear for his birthday and couldn't wait to wear it!

She was so nervous, but she did GREAT on her speech!

That evening we had a little party for Nixon and a few friends.  He chose Top Golf, dinner, and five friends.  This mama JUMPED at the chance to have such an easy birthday celebration!

We split the boys up, had two bays so they weren't waiting too long for their turn, ordered dinner, and enjoyed the night!  EASIEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

He was trying to give me a funny face and it totally worked!

Sidenote...When the waiters brought out the food, I was shocked!  One of the third grade boys in my class years ago was one of our waiters!  He was one of my super talkative kids who was crazy smart and he had such a special place in my heart.  So good to see him!

Bowen wanted to go to Nixon's party SO badly.  He kept telling Nixon-"If you let me go, I'll go last."  Which in four-year-old talk is the lowest of the low-right?  Having to go last?!  That's how badly he wanted to get the invite.  ha!  Nixon was completely on board with him coming.  Ebby Lee opted for a night at the Shull house.

Nixon opened his presents...all super cool boy stuff.  They all oohed and cute!

We had a great night out with these cuties!

Even if the majority of the time they acted more like this.  hahahaha!

On our way to the cars, they found this little grassy spot and wrestled, tagged, and chased each other for a good ten minutes before we loaded everyone up to take them home.

Thursday afternoon, Bowen's preschool class had an Easter egg hunt at school.  I got to see him in action!

He would pick up the egg (as long as there wasn't a princess on the egg-some were those cute Disney princess eggs), shake it, and if he could hear something inside throw it in his basket.

Friday morning, Nixon and I ventured out for a little walk.  He tried to push the speed a little bit, but I thought our walk was a comfy pace.  ha!

Friday afternoon we gathered at the airport to welcome home the Richardson's and their new daughter, Willow.

We patiently waited for their arrival with signs in hand.

Sweet Willow was like a celebrity when she arrived.  It's safe to say we were all a little smitten.  She was smiling, waving, high fiving, and eating it all up.

We're so so excited for Brooke and her family.

Saturday afternoon we went to the Easter Egg-Stravaganza at our church.  It's a big celebration full of bounce houses, petting zoos, and an egg hunt.

This girl surprised us both when she held a rabbit!

We took a little pause for a sno-cone break.

Then they talked strategy before it was time to hunt the eggs.

I had a moment when Ebby Lee was running thinking about how few years I have left to watch her do things like this.  Pretty soon the egg hunt excitement will wear off but until that happens we're going to enjoy every minute of fun things like this!

Tab had a spring football game in Kansas so it was just the crazies and me.  We spent the evening outside having pizza with neighbors before we called it a night.

Sunday we celebrated our Risen Savior with church, friends over for lunch, and a backyard egg hunt.

Clearly, we were a just a LITTLE bit excited about it.  We ended the night at the Shull's house for an Easter cookout. Guacamole, pie, and the kids' swimming were the perfect way to end the weekend.  :)

I hope you guys had a great Easter weekend as well.
