Clothes Round-Up

Happy Monday, Everyone!

It's Parent/Teacher Conference day here in McKinney, so my kiddos have the day off.  We have conferences, a couple appointments, and then family pictures tonight!

Just recently I was thinking about Christmas shopping.  You guys I've bought one present.  Just one.  So I have lots of work to do in this department, but I remembered how last year I ordered 95% of the gifts I gave online.  It was amazing.  You'll very rarely find me in a store.  Thanks to online shopping, I prefer to get it all done in the comfort of my own home, preferably in my pajamas with a view of the fire.

I'll be {along with all the other bloggers} sharing some gift ideas next month {because WEDNESDAY IS NOVEMBER}.  But in the mean time, I have kind of a What I Wore Wednesday/Clothes Round Up/Some Of These Are On Sale post for you today.  I have a few new outfits I've worn lately to share, along with some super cute scarves that are now online, and then lots of other goodies at a great price {including my FAVORITE jeans on sale!!}.  And maybe you can get a jump start on your Christmas shopping.  :)

Friday night we spent the evening under the Texas "Friday Night Lights" and this new sweater was perfect!  Free People sweaters are a little hit or miss for me.  Sometimes they are too boxy for my long-waist but I love this one.  The color screams FALL (comes in other colors as well).

Don't pay attention to the stack of clothes behind me.  I've been planning for fall pictures and everyone's clothes are in this room.

This scarf is now online, ladies!  It's super cute and would make the best Christmas gift!
Paired with this top and these jeans.

These two items are also at great price points...the scarf and the sweater.

Another look at the sweater, the jeans, and wine booties.

I'm not sure what is happening in this picture!  ha!  But these wine jeans (mine are sold out from the Anniversary Sale), paired with a chambray shirt, and topped with this new plaid scarf and these booties were the perfect outfit for a haunted house!

Another great gift idea...this plaid cape.

Plaid shirt with a special ruffle detail on the back.

Cowl neck sweatshirt can be dressed up or dressed down and is super comfy.

The cardigan is still in stock and available in lots of colors, but the gingham is sold out.  MY FAVORITE JEANS ARE ON SALE-33% OFF!!  And these booties are on sale as well.

This sweatshirt is on sale-40% off!

I've paired this sweater with a plaid underneath or worn it alone and loved both looks.  MY FAVORITE JEANS ARE ON SALE-33% OFF!!  And these booties are on sale as well.

That's it for today!  I hope you guys have the best Monday!

Friday Favorites

Hey Friends!

Happy Friday!

The high today is 57 degrees here in Texas.  We won't even know what to do with that kind of cool in October.  I have no doubt my kids will be wearing parkas or ski jackets.  ha!

In typical Friday fashion, Narci, Andrea, and I are sharing our FAVORITES and we'd love for you to join us!

And again just like every Friday, I have "A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING" for you...

First up, is another edition of cute girlies in some cute clothes.  ;)  Nordstrom reached out and asked me to highlight a few more kid goodies.  I instantly knew exactly what I would talk about...the brand Tucker + Tate.  I've mentioned them before, but they're worth mentioning again.  With the great quality, affordable prices, and super cute pieces you definitely need to check them out.

My favorite thing about that vest is-it's reversible!  So she can wear it polka dot puffer style OR faux fur.   I thought the dress looked a little Sideline Stylish to me.  Maybe it's the cuffs at the sleeve?  But you could pretty much pair any bow or headband with your school's color and your little will be representing!

So stinkin' sweet!

Britt had a wardrobe change and then Ebby Lee joined her for some fun.  :)

I thought the outtakes were too funny not to include.  If you have girls, these outfits would be so cute for family pictures OR an LSU football game?  The purple boots Ebby Lee has on were so cute with the fringe and she commented on her own how comfy they were.  They're very similar to Uggs on the inside.

Sisters :)

Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this portion of the post!

The temperatureshere in Texas has been AMAZING!  Britt's fall game was ON POINT on Monday!  We went to the gym, ran a couple errands, and were home for lunch and naps.

On Tuesday, Britt went for her six week check-up with her palate doctor.  Tab joined us and we had a little lunch date afterwards.  We got good news!  WAHOO!  And go back in six months!

If you missed yesterday's post, it was all about my nightly skin care routine.  You don't want to miss the comments.  Lots of you recommended skin care lines or other products as well.  I can't wait to order some!

And on Wednesday, I shared what we've been up to around here.  That included a panda and Moana meeting and harvest partying all night long.  :)

Yesterday, we had Bowen's pre-op appointment for his tonsillectomy.  When I picked him up early from preschool, he had the BIGGEST smile on his face!  Know why?  He has the CLASS PET for the weekend!  He politely told me we need to do something really fun because we have to put pictures of our weekend with Fluffy Hugs in the class book.  He asked me if we could go to Disney World.  #hewasforreal  #haha  So we're off...Bowen's making sure Fluffy Hugs has the best time and I'm making sure we don't lose him.  :)

Thank you guys so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have the BEST weekend!  XO

How Erika Does-Night Time Routine

It's been a while since I've shared a "How Erika Does" post.  I'm sure you guys are just dying to know how my night time routine goes.  Right?  ha!  It's not like I think mine is something super fabuous, but I'm nosy and enjoy taking a peek into others' lives.  Thought you might be nosy too.  ;)

I was a Rodan + Fields' consultant for several years.  I loved the products, the business side is amazing and allows people to be super successful, but time just wasn't allowing me to do all the things.  I had to let something go and that was the part of me I felt needed to take a back seat.  So, I'm not selling R + F anymore.  I think they have great products.  I've seen AMAZING results due to those products.  If you're looking for a consultant to help, e-mail Kathryn (kathryn.andres@sbcglobal.net and you can see her blog here).  She's amazing and will set you up with the perfect products for your skin.  I used the Redefine regimen most of the year and switched to Soothe in the winter when my face got crazy dry.  Highly recommend!

But I happen to be one of those people who likes trying all the products.  Birchbox and those types of monthly shipment programs are my jam because then I can try it all!  I'm definitely a skin care junkie.  I've been using only R + F for the last several years so when I hung up my coat (and ran out of products) I stepped out of my comfort zone a bit.  I'm all over the place on products at the moment.

This is what I've been using lately...

Revision Brightening Facial Wash or on Walmart.com here-After using this cleanser my face feels firmer, win-win!  When I use products that are more of a scrub, it makes my overly dry skin-even more dry.  I'm loving this face wash because that isn't a problem.

Bobbi Brown Instant Detox Mask-Not every night, but I use this at least once if not twice a week.  I'm a bath girl so this mask with a bubble bath makes me happy.

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate-My face gets crazy dry.  Shay recommended this after trying it herself and I'm a fan.

Tula Hydrating Mist-I don't even remember where I got this recommendation but again with super dry skin, I can use all the help!

Pevonia Moisturizer-This moisturizer is a spray as well (as the one above).  I have no doubts I'm an over sprayer when it comes to this product, but it moisturizes well and leaves my face feeling refreshed.

*At night, I usually use one or two of the above moisturizers.  I change the combination up all the time so I listed them all here.

Neocutis Eye Cream-I just started using this eye cream and really like it so far.

Those products are kind of all over the place.  They're either something I spotted in a store, found on a blog, or a friend gave me a recommendation.

Again, the R + F products are GREAT, but after exclusively using them for years I wanted to step out and try some new things.  I have no doubts there are products I'll be ordering again soon.

Has anyone ever done the Play by Sephora membership?  (It's a monthly subscription that comes with five beauty samples plus a fragrance in a cute little bag.)  I just signed up and can't wait for my box to arrive.  I used to get Birchbox and loved it.  My only complaint was the products they included weren't always products I'd see in stores when shopping.  Sometimes they had to be ordered through Birchbox exclusively.  I think since that was my major complaint-this Sephora box will be great!  I'll keep you posted when it arrives!

What about YOU?  What are your night time routine must haves when it comes to products?  Do you have a favorite product you'd recommend?  Or do you have a new product you just began using?  We'd love to hear all about it!

I know there are some skin care junkies reading this post and we'd all love for you to share!  Have a great day!  XO

What's Up Wednesday

I'm joining MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What's Up Wednesday link-up!

What we're eating this week:

Monday: We had Taco Pasta.  I'm usually not the biggest pasta fan BUT if you add taco goodies in my pasta, I'm a big fan!

Tuesday: Fiesta Chicken with Rice was on the menu before a baseball game.  Slow cooker for the win!  :)

Wednesday:  Lasagna Soup is what's on the menu for tonight.

Thursday:  We're going out on the town for a fun night.

Friday:  We'll eat out again because we're headed to a football game.

What I'm Reminiscing About:

My, how times have changed!  I remember the first football trip I attended WITH kiddos. I met my parents in Arkansas for one of Tab's college games and I had one-year-old Ebby Lee and six-month-old Nixon in tow.  I remember thinking it was SO HARD!  (Granted, those ages aren't great for football watching.)  But we've been trying to find a weekend that works for the kiddos and I to tag along to a game this season.  Thanks to seven-year-old flag football and dance, it's been so hard to get away!

What I'm Loving:

All the FALL festivities!  This past weekend was our BFG (Sunday School) classes' annual Harvest Party.  If you're looking for a great event for a group, DO THIS!  We rent this pavilion, have a bounce house for the evening, and all bring yummy food in slow cookers.  The kiddos get to show off their costumes, everyone gets to visit, and a fun night is had by all!

This year I took the cutest little panda, a Candy Fairy, Indiana Jones (whose costume reviews on line were ALL WRONG), and a Star Wars' guy to the party.  :)

A Panda and Moana
*At this moment, I was practically lying on the concrete trying my best to get the panda to crack a smile.  It worked.  #kindof

I think they both had a moment of...WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?

Our big crazy crew of kiddos

Mrs. Narci caught a bit of the loving action.

All the ladies at the party :)
And one more picture of these sweet girls because they're so cute.

What We've Been Up To:

We've been up to all the games lately.  I looked over during Nixon's game last week and saw this.  :)

Sometimes I forget those boys are just SEVEN!  We're expecting home runs, double plays, and three quick outs but at times like this...when they're mesmerized by a cute baby-I remember they're seven.  ha!  Nixon said all his friends were talking about how cute Britt is.

This game was supposed to start at 7:30 and there were a couple delays so it started at 8:15!  For late games, I usually put Britt to bed before we leave and have a babysitter come, but our girl who usually does this had sports herself.  I didn't dream the game would start so late.  BUT all that to say, Miss Britt hung like a champ.  I think she's gonna be a little night owl because she caught a second wind around 8:45 was lively until we got home.

What I'm Dreading:

Bowen's getting his tonsils removed in November and I'm already dreading it.  :(

What I'm Working On:

Sending families like the one pictured above to Disney World.  We've been busy bees working on family vacations traveling to Disney World, traveling via cruise, or traveling to all-inclusives in Mexico.  If you'd like help on an upcoming vacation, please e-mail us at mixandmatchtravelagency@yahoo.com.

What I'm Excited About:

We have our family pictures scheduled for next week.  This week I've been pulling clothes and am excited to see how they come together.  You can see our summer pictures in yesterday's post here.

What I'm watching/reading:

Every year I see this trilogy pop up around Christmas, but I always think it's too late for me to read them all in time!  Shay mentioned this series and I was so glad she did!  I've read the first two and am reading through the last one right now.

We've been watching ALL THE HALLOWEEN movies as well.  You guys recommended some great ones.  Read through the comments in this post for all your suggestions.

What I'm Listening To:

This has been on repeat around our house.

What I'm Wearing:

I found a few goodies I've highlighted before that are on sale right now!

This Ugg cardigan is on sale and I'm thinking it'd make a great Christmas present.  Comes in two other colors.

What I'm Doing This Weekend:

We're going to a football game and getting in the Halloween spirit!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month:

We won't see all the crew pictured above because everyone can't make it for Thanksgiving this year.  BUT-we're excited about everyone we'll get to see on this trip.  With Britt arriving this summer, we didn't have a chance to make a trip to Missouri.  We're stoked about introducing her to the family!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  XO
