Kick Off to Summer

You guys...it's our FIRST FULL WEEK OF SUMMER!

Be prepared for a week full of ALL THINGS SUMMER.  :)  We have camps, vacations, lazy days, and all other kinds of fun built in and we're READY!

I know the first "official" day is later this month, but if you ask a Slaughter, we're celebrating early.

Our girls' Bible Fellowship Group had our first summer social last night.  We were all supposed to bring a favorite summer essential...could be anything...for a little gift exchange.  The whole thing got me thinking...WHAT ARE MY SUMMER ESSENTIALS?  And well, when you're a blogger every little thing you think about can instantly become a blog post.  ha!

Let's talk SUMMER ESSENTIALS...

I discovered this Supergoop Setting Mist with Rosemary last summer and instantly fell in love.  Have we discussed that my sense of smell is off the charts?  My friends will vouch for this one hundred percent and I'm here to tell you this setting mist smells SO GOOD!

While we're on my sense of smell (haha!), I must share this lotion.  I just received my second order from Hummingbird Farms and let me tell you, it's all because of the lavender scent.  My two favorite products are the lavender lotion and the lavender heavy cream.  After being out in the sun all day, the heavy cream is perfect for dry skin.  They both smell so good.  And the apple doesn't fall far, I let Bowen smell them when they arrived and he came in my bathroom the next morning asking for a little bit of that great smelling lotion.

My favorite cool drink poolside is a La Croix and right now I'm on a "mango" kick.  This is for sure a summer essential.  :)

Every summer I order several pairs of the BP Sunglasses because you know I'm gonna lose them, someone's gonna step on them, or something else will happen.  They're my favorite, a MUST for summer, and a great price!

Of course we need SWIM SUITS!  The last time I asked about where you guys purchase suits a sweet friend recommended the Shade and Shore Swimwear line from Target.  I highly recommend it.  I also love my Athleta suits.  And if you're looking for kiddos, I shared some of my favorites in this post.

Nothing says SUMMER around here, like Tab's Guacamole.  There's not a better snack in the world (in my opinion) than guacamole poolside.

A good book is another MUST!

With three girls in our house, a Wet Brush is much needed after an afternoon of swimming in chlorine.

To tackle the summer hair, I use this in my hair right after washing (as well as Ebby Lee's).
To tackle the dryness, I use Morrocanoil all summer long.

I'm sure I could add a few more items to the list, but the pool is calling my name.  :)   What would you say is your #1 SUMMER ESSENTIAL?  Please share!

Hope you have a GREAT week!  See you back here tomorrow!
XO

Why don't I love La Croix? I want to love it...I TRY to love it...but I just don't love it! My love for guac probably makes up for it, but it's hard to sip guacamole poolside.

All super great essentials! Have a few of these and love them! Supergoop also makes a lip balm with SPF. Lots of moisture and a little shine. LOVE!

I'm so bummed I didn't end up with the leave-in treatment last night!! I'm going to have to get some. I did use the charcoal face mask that I ended up with though and LOVE it!!

Love the Moroccan oil and the Its a 10 leave in- those are year round essentials for my dry coarse hair. I really want to try out that setting spray- I love that it has sunscreen in it. I think my summer essential would be a rich hair mask- I'm really liking the Enjoy brand luxury hair mask right now. Also, I love a good summer-y body spray- Bath and Body Works has one called At the Beach that I'm going to use for summer 😊 Fun idea for a post!
